I started to think about losing weight in May 2000 when I went white water-rafting and ripped
the wetsuit. I was very embarrassed, I could not believe that I could not fit in their largest wetsuit. This incident
got me thinking that I needed to lose weight, but did not do anything until 2002 when my mom said she was going to join Weight
Watchers.
On March 20th 2002, I joined Weight Watchers and could not believe I weighed 254 lbs. I knew I could
not focus on how much weight I had to lose, even Weight Watchers goal of losing 10% was too much so I cut it to
5%. When I reached a 5% goal, I would reward myself with a non-food item. Using this easier
to obtain approach has kept me motivated on this life-changing journey.
I have Finally made my Weight Watchers Goal on January 4th 2005. I have lost a total of 119.6 lbs.
I am still planning on losing 7-15 more pounds. After geting to my personal goal and maintaining for awhile I
plan to look into being a leader at Weight Watchers.
I have to admit I have not keep off all my weight. I had a really tough 2005 and half of 2006 where
my world just seem to turn upside down. Well I went of my program and went back to old habits. So I am now in
the process of re-losing the weight and getting back to goal. I am still doing Weight Watchers and I am also using the
Beck Diet Solutions workbook to help with some of my sabatoging thoughts and to get a better grip on my emotions and mind
to help me get back to goal and to stay there this time through all of life's ups and downs.
